WHEN WE WORK TOGETHER

Our sessions together will be tailored to your specific needs, goals, and intentions. We will customize and use techniques such as yoga asanas(postures), pranayama(breath), meditation, and sound healing to support your healing journey and life.

TRAUMA-INFORMED YOGA

Trauma-informed  yoga is based on the understanding that most  people have experienced some sort of trauma in their lifetime. Oftentimes when we think of trauma, we think of the biggest and worst moments of our lives, but sometimes even minor incidents can leave deep wounds. This form of yoga emphasizes the impact trauma has on the entire mind-body system. Through this approach, we create a safe and supportive space where  students can learn emotional regulation skills by connecting with breath and increasing body awareness.

PRANAYAMA & MEDITATION

Pranayama is the practice of breath regulation. This practice involves different breathing exercises and patterns. Through pranayama, we begin to strengthen the connection between body and mind. Meditation is a yogic practice to calm the mind or chitta “mind-stuff”. This practice is used to focus the mind and develop awareness to help promote clarity and calmness.

YOGA NIDRA

Yoga nidra is a conscious sleep-based  meditation that uses a series of breath, body, and awareness techniques. Yoga nidra follows the brainwaves down toward  sleep, where thoughts naturally distance themselves. It works by literally stilling the “waves” of the mind. In this space, we can easily enter the gap between us and our thoughts to re-establish the knowing that we are more than what the mind thinks. Here we set intentions based on what we want  to work on and release; in a sense, we are rewiring the conditioning of the brain to come into alignment with our most authentic and true selves.

INTEGRAL SOUND HEALING

Integral sound healing is a non-invasive  and incredibly deep modality that helps address physical, emotional, mental, and spiritual challenges in the body  through sound and vibrations. It helps create balance in body, mind, and spirit. ISH is very effective for triggering the relaxation response, which is beneficial in many physical and mental conditions. Sound and vibration can help relax/quiet the body and mind and help us to connect on a deeper level to ourselves, the soul, and the spirit. In turn, creating balance in all 5 bodies of our being.
